SUP

SUP, Stand Up Paddling, is one form of surfing. In SUP (stands for both the sports and the board) you paddle with a long paddle standing on a longboard style SUP board. They say the sports started in Hawaii. You can go supping (stand up paddling) on any waters – rivers, lakes, sea. The Finnish archipelago is one of the most beautiful supping scene! Also waveriding has its own SUP boards.

SUP boards are manufactured for many different use. An all-round board is to be used in various conditions. It is a basic, stable easy-to-use SUP board that can be used by the whole family. A touring board is shaped differently than an all-round board and is suitable for longer SUP trips and exploring. The boards often have a possibility to attach equipment bags on top of the boards so you can go supping for an overnight trip, just take a tent along!

SUP boards are also manufactured for racing, waveriding, white water rafting, yoga and fitness, teaching and fun use. There are also smaller boards for smaller paddlers like kids. With an XL SUP you can go paddling with 7 friends at once, or you gan have two teams and play SUP polo!

Normally an SUP board is for one person. Each board has a carry handle so moving the board on dry land very easy. Anyone can go supping without any prior experience. However swimming ability is essential as well as using the right SUP and safety equipment.
